Our mission is to provide quality, state-of-the-art, scientific research-based, interactive ”Best Practices” crime prevention curricula and training.
Our goal is to work with the Texas School Safety Center, Texas Department of Homeland Security, and TCLEOSE to design training to assist communities and schools in mitigating/preventing, preparing for, responding to and recovering from the myriad of threats facing them today.

The Institute for Criminal Justice Studies is under going some major curriculum revisions and updates to bring all of our current lessons up-to-date. In addition, we are researching and developing many “New” state-of-the-art, interactive, virtual reality – active learning best practices from lessons learned curricula, lessons and complete courses which address a myriad of current threats facing our schools, communities and our law enforcement officers. ICJS and the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) are in collaboration for many of these new courses. ICJS has partnered with leading experts in the field of law enforcement, school safety, counter-terrorism, and other homeland security related subjects. Some of our new partners include Signature Science, LLC.; Instinctive Shooting International Incorporated (ISIINC), former Israeli soldiers who bring state-of-the-art mitigation and defense training along with a plethora of first hand experience in dealing with and countering terrorism; Responsive Learning; and Parks Place, LLC. ICJS is continually researching and forming partnerships with the best expert companies and organizations in the country, to ensure we deliver the absolute best training possible.

TCPA Endorsement of ICJS
Texas Crime Prevention Association endorses the Institute for Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS) as the primary provider for Crime Prevention Part I, Crime Prevention Part II and new Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) curricula's. ICJS had brand new TCLEOSE approved, researched-based, state-of-the-art, realistic with hands-on components Crime Prevention certification trainings. Texas Crime Prevention Association
The 2009 Mid Winter TCPA training conference will be held in Kerrville, Texas on January 11 -14, 2009 at the Y.O. Ranch Resort and Conference Center.
The 2009 TCPA Summer Conference will be held in Austin, Texas at the Radisson Austin North. We are looking forward to working with ICJS to continue to provide the most up-to-date and reliable Crime Prevention training available.

The Center for Safe Communities & Schools (CSCS), Texas State University, San Marcos gets “NEW” Director for the Institute for Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS). On February 4th, George D. Little was hired as the Director to oversee ICJS. His goals and objectives are to make ICJS, CSCS, and Texas State University the model for Criminal Justice and Safe Communities and Schools programs in the country. He has a passion for teaching and a commitment to provide state-of-the art, scientific and researched-based, “Best Practices” in law enforcement training curricula available to meet and serve the needs of our Texas Law Enforcement Officers, and their communities.
